General
Description
SpectraTrack
M is a three layer, insitu, spike resistant, colored, impermeable,
resilient polyurethane athletic surface. The total minimum recommended
thickness is 13mm (1/2"). The first and second layers consists
of specially formulated, colored polyurethane. Conipur 210*, into which
black SBR* granules have been embedded before curing. The top layer
consists of Conipur 210 into which colored EPDM rubber granules have
been embedded before curing.
Recommended
Method of Installation
Asphalt
Check
The asphalt must be impervious and the finished level must not vary
more than +/- 4mm when measured with a 3 meter long straight edge. High
areas shall be milled off or ground off or heated and scraped to reach
the required level. Low spots shall be cleaned, primed and leveled with
Conipur 210 A/B mix to obtain the required level.
Installation
of SpectraTrack M
Ensure that the asphalt base is clean and dry. Remove any mud debris
or foreign matter by sweeping, scraping or blowing.
Mixing
of the Polyurethane
Weigh out a batch of Conipur 210 Part A and Part B into separate containers
in the ration of 100:65 by weight. Pour the Part A and Part B into a
mixing container and thoroughly mix using a forced mixer**. When mixed,
pour the mixed material into another mixing container and mix again
(this is to ensure that all material is mixed homogeneously and this
step is very important.)
Application
of First Layer
This mixed material is then poured onto the asphalt surface, spread
using a notched squeegee to give a coverage rate of 2.5-3.5KG/sqm (4.6-6.4lb/sq.yd.)
Conipur 210 is self leveling. While still liquid, clean, dry 1-4mm SBR
granules are broadcast into the surface to excess. After curing (hardening)
the excess SBR granules are removed for reuse.
Application
of Second Layer
Repeat the base layer application.
Application
of Third Layer
Repeat the base layer application using 1-4mm colored EPDM rubber granules
in place of the SBR granules and adjust the usage of Conipur 210 to
give a total of approximately ~ kg/sqm (16.5/sq.yd.) and a total surface
thickness of approximately 13mm (1/2")
*Other
Conica recommended products can be used in place of those mentioned.
**In place of batch mixing a specially designed continuous mixer can
be used.
Line
Marking / Event Marking
The track shall be surveyed by an accredited surveyor and all lane and
event markings shall be according to I.A.A.F. guidelines.
Line
/ Event Spraying
Lanes and events shall be sprayed using a specially formulated two part
polyurethane paint, to I.A.A.F. recommendations and a certificate issued.
