Quality Assurance: Manufacturer shall have manufactured and installed
playground surfacing systems to current ASTM F1292-99 Test Criteria
for a minimum of 8 years. The installation of the product shall
be completed by Manufacturer Certified Contractors or by direct
employees of the Manufacturer's Installation Division. Manufacturer's
detailed installation procedures shall be submitted to the Architect
and made a part of the Bid Specifications. |

system to be installed in compliance with the Critical Fall Height

| PART
3 - PRODUCTS |
| 3.1 |
Product: SpectraLock® Safety Surfacing or approved equal. |
| 3.2 |
Description: A tile system with a solid upper layer membrane and
an underlying construction of a rib system in a waffle design. The
interconnecting safety surface tile shall be made from vulcanized,
high pressure and heat molded rubber with an integrated SpectraLock®
connecting system hidden beneath the top membrane. The SpectraLock®
patented (patent # 5,865,004) inter-connecting system provides a
uniform and monolithic appearing surface without exposed connecting
mechanisms. |

Materials: The SpectraLock® Tile shall be manufactured from EPDM
and SBR rubber compounds vulcanized and molded at high pressure
and temperature blended by a proprietary process. ALL COMPONENTS
OF THE TILE SYSTEM ARE CERTIFIED TO BE MANUFACTURED AND PRODUCED
IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. |

Tile thickness is 1.75", 2.35", or 3.00" in 2' x 3' center tiles;
2' x 2' center tiles; 1' x 3' beveled border tiles; 1' x 2' x 2'
beveled outside corners and transition tiles. Specified thickness
determined by the Critical Fall Height Requirements of the playground
equipment, the Consumer Product Safety Commission's Guidelines and
current ASTM F1292-99 Test Criteria. |

Color: Solid: black, terra cotta, blue, beige, green. Speckled with
EPDM granules: Midnight Sky, Coral Sea, Prairie Sunrise, , Desert
